Just a quick update—I ended up ordering an Osmio Zero. The unit was shipped the same day I placed the order and arrived the following day, which was a pleasant surprise since next-day shipping wasn’t mentioned by the manufacturer. It also came with an extra filter that wasn’t listed on the product page, so my first impressions were quite positive.
After setting it up, the water quality has been great, though there’s a slight “new machine” taste that I expect will fade after a few uses. However, the hot water function has been disappointing—it doesn’t come close to the advertised 100°C. That’s a shame because the overall water quality and ease of use could have made it a great replacement for my standard kettle. I measured the water temperature directly from the nozzle at around 86°C and confirmed the same result after preheating a cup before dispensing. I also let the machine run for a while to ensure it had enough time to reach its maximum temperature, but the results remained the same.
Given the size of the unit and the price point, I’ve decided to return it. I had expected the hot water function to perform better than other, more affordable options, such as those from Waterdrop, which I saw some reviews about on this forum mentioning similar temperature issues. I think I’d be better off finding an RO countertop system without the unnecessary 2-in-1 hot and cold feature, as this seems to be a common weak point across these types of systems.
Thanks for all the advice! If anyone has recommendations for countertop systems that focus purely on filtration without a hot water dispenser, I’d love to hear them.
