Adrianmsmith I realise theres a price difference from Bambino to DB.

oh yes. I got the Bambino at sub-£200 deal. 😊

It is a great gear for a starter.

HarveyMushman If you’ve got any leads on where to actually still get this that would be great 😅

There are no gold-plated guarantees as it is all
relative. What’s nice for us may not be for you. 😅

Pretty standard roasters fo us, not in any particular order.

Blackcat, Crankhouse, Foundry, Spaceboycoffee, Blossom Coffee, Taith Coffee, Hundred House Coffee, Redbank coffee, Kobean Coffee, Zennor Coffee, Skylark, Taith, Curve, FIKA, Kiss the Hippo, SquareMiles, Smith Street and Atkinsons to name a few.

She doesn’t order any as I order hers’ regularly.

Enjoy the rest of Sunday 😊

Hmm. I am not going there. 😀

Id rather buy tried and tested over something like that

Decent De1pro v1.45 - Niche Duo - Niche Zero - Decent is the best machine ever made -

    LMSC

Thanks! I was half joking as I’ve struggled a bit to get really good coffee the past 6 months or so even from roasters I like.

I haven’t heard of a few of those in your list so that’s appreciated!

La Marzocco Linea Mini - Mazzer Philos

    Ikawa Roaster

HarveyMushman agree stuff seems to have gone to shit!!

Sage dual boiler is underrated by many. Very capable machine.

      About Me

HarveyMushman Price is not a guarantee for a great cup. Many expensive bags costing £100 a KG has disappointed me.

Another thing which disappoints me are the roasters who send coffee roasted 3 weeks from the roast date to the date it gets delivered. I avoid buying from them with Darkwoods being an exception as their coffee is great. I also avoid those who cannot take anything other than a positive feedback.

        Please keep trying! 😊

True. Infact, I recommended this to my daughter some time back.

@vanq You have got quite a few excellent suggestions. I was wondering whether you have considered a combo of a Niche Zero and a second hand ACS Minima. The former doesn’t need any praise and the second is a very reasonably priced dual boiler machine with excellent thermal stability and a lot of steaming power for latte drinks.

Every now and then a Minima pops up here and if you have the patience and this is down your alley you might get these two just squeezed in your budget or very near it.

Current setup: ACS Vesuvius, Nuova Simonelli Mythos One. Past experience, Nuova Simonelli Apia 1 gr., San Remo Capri 1 gr., Bezzera BZ 35e, Fracino Heavenly. Anfim Super Lusso.

I would go for Lelit Anna with PID and Lagom Casa grinder. Used the Lelit Anna for around 4 years. It never missed a bit. Haven’t used the grinder, but bought my sister one. And it arrives in April. It’s a design piece.

Lelit Elizabeth, La Pavoni, Niche Duo, Gene Cafe roaster

You could do worse than buy the Niche Duo for sale on this forum. The price is about right. Niche have built up a solid reputation and are pretty much bullet proof. The grinder will go with you on whatever journey your coffee travels take you on. Also, the name Duo means that if you ever dabble with brewed coffee you can buy a set of specific burrs and a carrier from Niche. It takes less that 60 seconds to swop them over without the need to alter any setting.

Can highly recommend the duo, bought mine off of a forum last year and it is frankly excellent.

I did pick up the filter burrs from Peter and have to say they are also excellent, on par or better than my fellow Ode gen 2. I was contemplating whether the filter butrs can replace the ode or not. From a taste perspective they definitely can, but convenience I will wait and see how I get on in the next month or so.

I’m looking to upgrade my machine next, but the duo will be with me a long time
