I have owned one of these since the launch on Indiegogo and that must be 2017/18. This grinder absolutely set the world ablaze and is responsible for the current fad of single dosing grinders in the domestic market. I am lucky enough to have 2 grinders on my bench and I always have 2 coffees on the go, one for each grinder. I have had a couple of other SD grinders and so far, nothing has matched the ease. of workflow of the Zero. The 63mm Mazzer burrs are superb. I often wish that they would revisit this grinder and stick in their big brother, the 83mm ones!
Out of interest, I am sticking a poll up with this, that is just for my benefit……indulge me!

I agree David it’s a superb grinder. I had one of the first batch marketed at £350 after reading DaveC’s review, and was thoroughly impressed. I only sold it as I have moved from dark/medium to medium/light roasts after getting a Decent, and have changed to a Philos as the flat burrs, to my taste, give more flexibility when using lighter-roasted beans.

I’ve never been a fan of how it looks but can fully appreciate what a fantastic grinder it is and how it pretty much set the stage for domestic grinders and still remains the benchmark at that price point (and arguably a bit above) even now.

It’s the one I recommend to friends when they’re looking to buy their first ‘proper’ grinder.

The customer service is also brilliant.

i had a zero which i sold, then i got a brand new one which i use for the mrs, i was lucky enough to get to test the duo, and after the launch niche gifted me one, so im lucky to have a zero used for the wife and a duo for my lighter stuff, which replaced my massive mazzer major - also 83mm

I have had my black Niche for at least 4 years. I make espresso and drip with it every day. What a workhorse! I love the workflow. I hope it lasts forever. I recently cleaned it, which I almost never do, and it was still perfect inside.

I didn’t have any interest in getting another electric grinder after my Rocky, I was happy with my Feldgrind & Lido hand grinders, until I got to try the Niche Zero prototype…the workflow was just as easy as a clean hand grinder and then I knew I had to have one.

I found a Baratza Sette marginally tidier when actually grinding, but that died after a couple of years, had worse retention and was never a reasonable option for filter.

A couple of clacks of the Zero’s lid, after grinding, clears the chute. No sweeping, no bellows, nor poking the grind path with a bit of wire to clear it.

Beans in, flick the switch, grinds out, switch off, brew.

I had a zero for about 5yrs and never wanted to upgrade until I got some money to spend at BB! I have been toying with getting a Duo but can’t see much of an upgrade from the T64.

Niche are solid and are at the right level in the market for those starting out and seasoned pros.
