Just a quick update. This thread explained the issues I had trying to source a wood steam knob and matching handle. Anyway, the steam knob turned up but the matching wooden handle did not fit. I ended up buying a bottomless on Ebay that came with the right M10 thread and a white handle (it also had a basket which looks ok but I have not used yet) for £20 delivered. I then bought an M10 threaded wooden handle that looked vaguely similar in colour for £6.49 from Ebay. This is the result.
