I think forums contribute to this also. I found it enlightening when I discovered espressocirclejerk on reddit that got me out of the upgraditis and looking for perfect flow etc. I think I’m safe now, skipped that Gauss peak, although I like to tinker, make small, inexpensive changes that still feed my pleasure of making the espresso every morning
