I have a leak from the center fitting on the top of the steam boiler, which connects the boiler to the solenoid valve. The leak is not where the fitting screws in the boiler, but at the connection with the plastic tube. I have changed the fitting, and the leak came back a few months later… while inspecting the second time, I’ve noticed a similar leak from the 90 degrees fitting that connects the steam boiler to the pressure gauge. My machine is about 4-5 years old with about 5000 coffees on the counter…

My questions:

what is the best strategy to solve the leaks - changing the fitting, the plastic tube or both?
Is my machine due for a major preventive rebuilt of all tubes and fittings?

In my case only connectors on top of the boilers are gone as the heat is on its peak up there.

Buy few spares…

After replacing several quick connect fittings with original ones I found out that fitting with ferulle works the best.

Normaly those goes with small insert which goes inside the PTFE tube to prevent tube collapsing but I have used it successfully without.

As your leak reapers I would check and replace or shorten if possible the tube.

Problem with quick connectors is O ring which gave up from the heat after some time and it’s not replaceable.

This is the issue, simply buy new connectors and replace them, the tubing should be fine.
