Zennor Perú La Palma Miguel Lopez Washed Geisha
The website lists the tasting notes as white peach, honeysuckle, and bergamot, with delicate acidity, a silky texture, and an elegant floral finish. The bag, however, mentions white peach, pear, and honeysuckle, so it seems the cupping notes have shown some natural variation.
Geisha usually presents beautifully on filter: delicate, light, refined, and almost tea-like. That’s why this cup came as a bit of a surprise.
Brewed on the Switch, the filter was complex and full-bodied, but it lacked the clarity and clean expression I was hoping for. The acidity felt quite muted, which made the individual notes difficult to pick out. It was still a pleasant coffee to drink, but it didn’t leave a particularly memorable impression, especially compared with the espresso.
I scored the filter at 6.5/9. For me, the espresso was clearly the stronger performer, showing the coffee at its best.
