Cuprajake The eureka is pants in reality. If you want something comparable then the solo really is it atm, plus it will take ssp burrs You could buy a niche and solo and still have change over a weber, lagom etc Now wether either are 1000 better than the niche/solo id debate that.
DavecUK Cuprajake Now wether either are 1000 better than the niche/solo id debate that. I’d agree, they might be a little better, but for all brew methods and how many people would notice enough of a difference to want to spend all that extra cash.
root Cuprajake You could buy a niche and solo and still have change over a weber, lagom etc I actually went this route recently. Ode with SSP unimodal burrs for pourover and now DF64 which will be paired with either SSP cast Lab Sweet-style or high uniformity burrs for espresso. This combo suits my tastes and budget as the sole coffee drinker in the house. Both these grinders have design and workflow deficiencies out of the box but nothing that can’t be overcome with modifications. If I had more budget to dedicate to the hobby or didn’t want to mod my grinders I would have probably just saved up for the P64, most likely. I can definitely appreciate good design and engineering, but also get a sense of satisfaction from hacking cheaper devices to improve their performance and usability.
LMSC What a shame! They didn’t really care to invest time and resources to create something unique from scratch.
Beverast Adjusting the grinder settings looks to be a real faff if you wish to switch from espresso to other options. This is one of the main reasons I enjoy using the Niche - it’s really easy to adjust the settings. The reviewer did not seem to have an issue with this though, but seen a few videos on Youtube criticising this aspect of the grinder.
