I’ve been busy going through the required software changes. It’s working well, I still think it’s very quiet, produces decent coffee. I’m using an 18g VST VST basket with only 14g in and it performs well although with that underfill the puck is wet as I have to grind fine. However, no sprizting, or any other such nonsense using the bottomless portafilter.
I mainly use the Paddle to lower the flow rate to get the sort of pressure tail of I like during the latter parts of the shot. Preinfusion and preinfusion with bloom phase both work properly and you can vary the time and pressure.
I am in two minds about doing a video of the software as it is now, because it will change a lot and I don’t want an older video to be there to confuse people in 6 months time.
The Mantis water/Steam wands are convenient, but personally not my favourite, fortunately people should be able to have an alternative choice, as in the Evo.
