Lelit Victoria, noise?

So I plumped for this machine post GC, the only other espresso machine we’ve used, and have been using it for a few days. Well actually the OH has been getting used to using it. Anyway, is it supposed to make a sort of mechanical ‘noise’ when initially heating up? I can’t say I’d noticed before today, when I switched it on and was checking the PID settings, but I’d mostly been doing the drinking, although I had turned the machine on. The noise stopped after a minute or so.

smallblueplanet Ur talking about the rumbling, not the ch!, ch! loud sound that seems to come from elsewhere in the room?

The rumbling is simply the sound of the heating element full on to heat the water in the boiler…any elements makes that sound as water on the elements surface flashes off to steam bubbles.

The rumbling sound and the other sound were together and not ‘outside’ noise. I think the ch! ch! was a bit like a noise as the water was ‘popping’? A ‘sort’ of noise you might get when water is splashed on an electric stoves hot hotplate.

It’s just I didn’t think either noise was audible all the past week or so, but I might have missed hearing it as I wasn’t with the machine all the time it was being used previously.

Edit: according to AI Google the Lelit machines can make different noise during fast heat up! The noise is happening as the boiler builds pressure and the boiler anti-vac valve opens?
