I recently purchased an Elizabeth secondhand and it seemed to be working fine right off the bat. After a few weeks the machine wouldn’t turn on at all and after reading that it could be related to the safety switch on the brew boiler I opened up the machine and found the switch had tripped. I pressed the switch in and the machine powered on, but the brew boiler no longer heats up.
As for steps I’ve tried so far, after leaving the machine on for 30-60 mins I held the + button and confirmed that the actual temp hadn’t moved. I placed my hand near the boiler and confirmed it wasn’t warm to the touch. I verified the safety switch was still depressed. Finally, using a multimeter, I tested the continuity of the safety switch as well as of the element and confirmed that both appear to have continuity. I’m not really sure where else to go from here and any help would be appreciated.
As an aside, the steam boiler seems to heat as expected. The only question I have is that once it reached boiling point a drip begins from below the steam boiler where a tube is routed. Is that expected behavior? And if not, is it in any way related to the issues I’m having with the brew boiler? For reference, this is my first dual boiler machine.
