Coincidences

Nothing to do with coffee. I am a bit of a skeptic, and a fatalist. Today is my 41st Wedding Anniversary and my best man has just texted me (he has never done this before) to wish us all the best. The coincidence is why he remembered……his parents were married on the same day, at the same church by the same vicar. To make it even more random, and I never found out why, the church was the parish church for my wife. It was not in the best of areas and my best man’s parents, sadly both dead now, were quite well to do.

Does anyone else have any stories about coincidences they wish to share?

I encounter ‘coincidences’ often.

My Wife and I were born in completely different cities, 100s of miles apart, met in London with zero connections/mutual acquaintances and discovered her Aunt was close friends with my Mum when they were at university…

Just recently we were clearing some old paintings my Great Grandfather had done, and one was of an old house that my Wife’s other Aunt and Uncle had lived in about 100 years after he’d painted it!

I spoke to my Best man and he gave me a link to watch. His parents were married in 1954, so years before us. His father was friendly with a director at a very well known Newcastle photography business. They took a 6 minute colour Super 8mm recording of the day for free, in exchange of being able to use it for promotional purposes. I have just watched it and apart from an older vicar, little else had changed!
