Never been to one, I know there’s a big one in London but never got around to it. There’s also one next weekend in Oxford. Have you been? What’s there to see/do? Good discounts from roasters? Was it worth it?

I went to the first few London ones but I think the last time I went was 2015.

It may well have changed but it used to be large stands from the big machine manufacturers (LM, Cimbali, San Remo etc) prominent roasters (of the time) like Ozone had a great stand, AllPress as well. Some huge roasters like Union were there. Then much smaller stands by smaller roasters. Some you’d never heard of, some you had. Occasional small discounts.

WBC style demos and instructionals.

They’re not the most thrilling of days out and there’s only so much coffee you can drink comfortably but still maybe worth a visit if there’s one happening nearby.

I mainly went for the LCF tote bag 😅

Ok, so I went to Oxford as a family day out and I didn’t really enjoy the festival. Probably I had different expectations, seeing a bit more gear (although I knew that only Smeg had announced their participation).

Coffee was ok. I finally got to taste light roast, people have been raving about it on forums for a while and I was beginning to have FOMO. Not anymore, it was too acidic for my taste, even when I tried it with milk afterwards. Maybe with milk it would have been better if the roastery guy wouldn’t have just put some random milk from a jug that was next to the machine (not sure how warm/cold it was).

Some roasters had discounts, some didn’t and all had only 250g bags, nothing bigger. Got one, just so I didn’t leave empty handed but the whole experience was meh!

First and last one for me, at least this one in Oxford.
