I was shocked and saddened to hear of Dave’s passing. I was continually amazed at both the depth of Dave’s knowledge on all matters relating to coffee, as well as his kindness. It’s a rare thing to be able to communicate that through a forum, but somehow it shone through nevertheless.
I am always, somehow, surprised at how poor words are at putting across the depth of grief and shock after bereavement. I hope everyone who was lucky enough to count Dave as a friend is looking after themselves, and I’ll be raising an espresso to him in the morning.
