Good morning, just discovered your forum, it looks great! I picked up a rancilio silvia V3 for free, the heating element was completely corroded, the boiler packed with minerals and it was grounding out to the frame. I am waiting for a new lelit element which I hope fits and I'm going to drill out the holes where the old element was.
I am not new to fixing things, but I am new to fixing espresso machines. I was cleaning out the minerals from the old boiler with a 3% mixture of citric acid when the orange started showing through, there is still a lot of minerals left. Can I keep going with the citric acid? Should I do something else? I didn't want to overdo it.
