Hot chocolate flake recommendations?

Unsure of how many members are regular hot chocolate drinkers. However, Hotel chocolate have discontinued the bags of chocolate and replaced them with sachets so I said I would find an alternative.
Ideally from a supplier of coffee beans as well to save delivery charges.

I used to be a fan of Hotel Chocolate when it first set up and had a regular subscription for their selection boxes and hot chocolate flakes. They were a small outlet with good service. Then they started pestering me to try this and try that so I cancelled my subscription. They got bought out by Mars.

I now get my flakes from Darkwoods and pleased with the quality and price.

I only ever have hot chocolate occasionally, but get it from Bare Bones Chocolate (based in Glasgow). Find it really good, but can only compare to the supermarket sugary rubbish really.

I was also disappointed to find hotel Chocolat no longer do the bags, they would often be half price at my local factory shop, the sachets are now about double the full price that the bigger bags cost.
I just buy decent chocolate and chop it finely, works out cheaper and there’s a bigger selection in the supermarket

Same here, plus you can adjust the chocolate to milk ratio to taste (I always find the Hotel Chocolate ratio of 35:220g too bland/milky). I also use a tiny pinch of salt and vanilla essence to taste (the girlfriend also likes sweetener if necessary).

If anyone is feeling extra fancy then Pump Street bakery in Orford (Suffolk) do fantastic hot chocolate (and it’s a top notch bakery). They have a chocolate shop over the road which supplies the chocolate (usually three options) and homemade marshmallow as well. I’d love to buy the chocolate but it’s very expensive and I can’t bring myself to do it so a hot chocolate from the bakery is the better option for me.

Pump street and bare bones are great. We use bare bones in our cafes, they have multiple flavours and their bars of chocolate are really nice as well. Expensive but totally worth it, the same goes for the pump street bars the croissant bar is so good that I have to not buy them anymore
