Beans poor black, great in milk

I have a bag of beans to try. Espresso medium roast. Promised dark cherry, clove and cedar! Tried a few as americano without milk and I could not get any of those tasting notes and it was quite bland. But, as a cappuccino it was rather tasty! I wondered if others had experienced similar things

Well, lets just say i find steamed milk makes a great addition to espresso. 🤪🤓☕

Joking aside, I’m part way now through my coffee beans advent calendar. Just 2 5 shots in each days offering. So 1 espresso 1 latte and one added to the blend bag

But i am finding some are lost when added to milk, makes more like what you would get in vig bucks or cost a lot coffee shops!!
