I’ve got to say that while Tom does go through more kit than John Bonham in the 70s he does pass it on to coffee fans at very reasonable prices.

tompoland i need to move closer hahaha

So I’ve saved, read and researched …but in the end me and the wife chose from the gut. I know the love for the Bianca and other brands but we chose this from Bella Barista.

V60/Aeropress to the back seat.
Now my espresso journey starts! 🙌🙌🙌

So today my osmosis system turned up from the group by and the commandante c40 - just because I fancied trying it out alongside the omega 😂

MediumRoastSteam Good eye it is, the heritage version because the wife liked the design better.

I was torn as no PID display like the profitec 500 or other brands but we just love the design and had to be joint decision within our budget.

As with anything the look of something while not crucial to coffee really does play a part 😂😂 when she saw a Rancillio Silva Pro X the no was very very quick.

A fantstic guitarist who amazingly plays a right handed guitar upside down even though he is not left handed. It is because he was taught to play guitar by his brother who is left handed. Also has a guest appearance by one of my favourite blues/rock lady singers Beth Hart who does a duet with Eric on a version of With A Little Help From My Friends… fantastic!

Another Eric Gales fan here, I enjoy the impromptu performances he does with others too such as Joe Bonamassa

Had to think a bit there then it clicked…plays guitar upside down…rush of blood to the head… Doh!

Been a while I bought anything from Rave, but the limited edition Brazilian was singing to me when they sent me an email about it. Was inly 400 bags available so I took 2. Sold out in a few hours.

Haven’t had an Ethiopoan for a while so picked ine up too to get over the £25 free postage line

I cannot remember if I have plugged Tynemouth Espresso before. They are local to me and have quite a strong wholesale presence in Newcastle. They have a wide range of coffees but I think they are all blends, which allows them to keep the prices down. At the moment I am drinking this one:

      https://www.tynemouthcoffee.com/product/beans/tynemouth-espresso/

At £20 per kilo it is very good value. They do not do a roasted on date but a best before. I suspect that for every forum member who drinks Single Origin there is an equivalent like me, whose taste buds simply do not pick up the finer details, hence I drink blends. Blending is an art form itself and these guys seem to have learnt it.

They also do a 3 month sub, either 500 gm or 1 kilo. There is a discount applied, plus free postage plus a free 500 gm bag of your choice. For decaf drinkers they do Nae Caffeine Hinny that I regularly buy. This is a link to their coffees page. If you are looking for a good value blended roaster, try them!

How are you finding the subscription, Jake? I’ve never done a subscription before, but might give one a go at some point, once I’ve got through the coffee I’ve already got in the freezer

well so far so good, the beans have all been good, and only one not to my liking, but that was me not the beans,

this new delivery seems to have some nice tasting notes too,

i had this subscription a while back and paused it, because one months came through and they all had the same notes haha, but like i say so far so good

        9 days later

        More coffee.

Whilst better financially, buying by the kg is getting a bit mundane.

Might try to mix it up a bit with some filter focused beans to sit alongside the espresso.

Thought I’d try one of these milk steamers. Which may seem a bit strange given that I only drink espresso. But there are a few reasons why I’d like to compare it to the milk that espresso machines produce. Guests being one. Hands free steaming being another. Probably ordering the steamer-free Meticulous being another. Planning to give it a whirl on Monday.

Interested to know if anyone has experience of this machine.
