Another basket arrived today - E&B nanotec, so this is another ims offshoot and I went for this over the ims nanoquartz as it has more holes around the edge of the basket - though overall less than the pullman.

First shot ran alot quicker than than the pullman - so will I think need to grind a bit finer.

However where the pullman could take alot of banging in the knockbox to dislodge the pick - the e&b just feel right out (as it should with the coating.)

Postman should be delivering this knockbox tomorrow… Have had a Breville (BCB100) that was gifted to me about 15 yrs ago and estimate the thing has seen at least 25,000 pucks and still holding up. Decided it was time for something new and even better built and after looking at dozens of all different types I settled on the Cafelat round stainless…

Also, about to pull the trigger on a quality scale… have had several types over the years and have found them to be quite decent, but looking for something with ideal build quality, insane consistency, no internal battery to swell/take a dump, etc. Definitely not into the ‘latest/greatest/app capable/waterproof/shot flow rate’ whatever as I’ll simply never resort to relying on a scale to determine how it ‘should’ taste. I use mine for dry dose weighing as well as green/roasted batch weight to determine moisture/weight loss. Think this one is calling me and will expect the postman to deliver in the near future…

Another arrival and a quick shout out to Rave for their after sales service.

The batch seen here didn’t turn up and when I traced it through Royal Mail it simply said that ‘ The sender has advised they have despatched your item to Royal Mail’ and that they (Royal Mail) are ‘Expecting it’. That was over a week and it normally turned up within three days of Rave notifying me it had been shipped.

I contacted Rave and Matt immediately appologised and re-sent a new batch at no cost to me which arrived three days later as usual. He said if the other batch did eventually turn up just to enjoy it.

Can’t ask for more than that.

I’ve not used Rave for a while but I happened to be going past Cirencester a few weeks back and decided to stop by their shop. They sell old (two weeks at most) coffee off for £10/kg or £2.50/250g bag, I picked up a 250g bag that I wouldn’t have otherwise chosen and I’m loving it so much I’m going to get a full kg of it. It’s a she I don’t live closer to their shop.
