Well… not quite the postman because I just went to the shop and bought it instead for the same online price.
After distilling water for the past 3 years, I decided tontice ZeroWater a go. Bought the jug and a filter for £19.99 and a set of 4 filters for £35.99 from Robert Dias in the UK.
The first thing I noticed is the size when compared to a Britta filter. The thing is huge! Also noticed how well designed the jug is in comparison: seal on the lid so water doesn’t leak when pouring or if both compartments are full, hey won’t mixture. Same as for the filter mount - screw with a seal rather than slotting.
The second thing I noticed is the water taste in comparison with the distiller. Even though they both have zero TDS (I checked with two different meters!) the water from the distiller is not nice to drink. If making tea or filter coffee, the water is just flat, and dull. Interestingly, it doesn’t seem to be the case with the ZeroWater. I had a mug of mint tea with it and it was just fine. Which is interesting because I experienced the same thing at Dave’s once: the RO water just taste fine to drink on its own - unlike distilled water.
