Bots do lots of things (often in the background and not just spam) so it won’t be obvious without looking into the traffic data for the forum. But it’s safe to say that the forum is 100% crawling with lots of bots at any time because it’s open to the internet without an account, meaning automated scripts have free reign on everything posted here without any limits. You posting your email resulting in spam just proves this.
To properly understand the prevalence of bots you’d need to look at the visitor data and stats for the forum, what looks real versus what’s impossible or unlikely for a normal visitor to do.
Understanding the scale of it is all pointless without taking steps to make life harder for bots first, and one of the easiest ways would be to limit access forum posts without accounts. This would not stop bots but just make it more awkward for them, and would presumably result in a spike in user account sign ups - but there are steps you can take to trick them or verify users are more likely to be human.
Not sure how to do it for this specfic platform but there’s lots of info online about how to understand ans limit annoying bot activity.
