Interest check: Lelit Bianca in Scotland

Hi,

It’s been years since I posted on the ‘other’ forum, having been happily doing my thing, making plenty of great coffee, after some initial set-up questions.

I have a Lelit Bianca (1st generation I guess, 2021, stainless steel) that I bought new from Bella Barista. I love it, but we’re getting a new kitchen at some point this year and my wife has made clear to me that there will not be a place for it!

I haven’t taken pics yet or advertised anywhere, just wanted to get a feel for what the market is like for these currently. I’m just south of Glasgow; is anyone near me looking for one currently? I have the box in the loft still, but don’t think it’s practical to try to send it via courier.

I’ve had a quick look on ebay, and on here, and it seems the offer price is around £1200 - are they selling?

I really don’t have a vendetta against eBay but still read a lot on reddit so here goes…. (Copied from another post)

a word of warning for you selling on eBay.

I read numerous posts almost daily on Reddit about sellers being ripped off by so-called buyers, putting in claims for not as described and sending them back and the seller receiving empty boxes back or on the other end sellers returning them after 29 days, which in itself is not too bad but you lose out on both ways of postage and all the hassle.

I used to sell regularly on eBay mainly camera equipment 2 years ago when all this rubbish started with the eBay system changing and all of the posts starting to appear about unscrupulous buyers. I got ripped off and will never go near the place again apart from to buy from reputable sellers. Sometimes it’s a great place for power tools, but you must be buying from a genuine dealer.

I am sure some people do not fall foul of the system butt just thought I would mention this

Try Tinder in your local area. I’m sure there’s plenty of wife material there that enjoys coffee done properly at home 🤣

Good shout on the eBay concern, thank you!

I’ll get some photos of the machine taken this week and put an ad up here and see how I get on before putting it anywhere else.

robimitchell Always check buyer’s reviews before selling, if you can do that.
In any case I would prefer selling big things like this locally. Much less hassles to deal with, and on an emotional level, feel closure to say good bye to a loved machine and see it’s in good hand
