Rok Presso basket options

Assume this counts as a manual lever machine of sorts!

I’ve just picked up a bargain Rok Presso, it comes with the spouted PF and a pressurised basket.

I plan to buy the GC upgrade from Rok, I see Rok sell standard baskets, but is there an alternative basket option out there? The stock baskets on offer are 49.7mm ID, which means you’re stuck to Rok tampers (£40).

Whereas if I could squeeze a 51mm into the stock PF, I could get a cheaper, no proprietary, 51mm tamper instead.

Anyone used a different basket, perhaps 51mm, with the stock (Spouted) PF?

Tal I had a La Pav double basket of the correct diameter (50.8mm OD, 49.7mm ID). The edge of the La Pav basket has a rounded lip, rather than the ROK’s flat lip…flattening the lip may be an option but I did just bung the La Pav one in there. For whatever reason, I ended up using the stock basket with around 12g of coffee.

I don’t recall the stock basket being pressurised?

Stock baskets I have are 50.5mm ID, 52.15mm OD.

Both stock & La Pav have rounded lips, but the La Pav lip must be deeper.

I’m not sure what should have come with it from new. But this has got a rok branded pressurised basket fitted currently.

Nah, I’ve got the JMax that I upgraded all of the bearings on (originals were shot) and sorted the loose handle.

It’s going to be my travel espresso setup! Rok for £25 couldn’t be missed….though I’m now going to have to get the GC kit, basket, tamper and prob be the same as if I got a normal one on eBay :p
