COFFEEJACK V2 - Gear Powered Portable Espresso Machine, via @Kickstarter

Im my quest for something to make coffee on my nights away working usually in premier inn etc im giving it a try

Not a lever machine but theres no tags for manual planetary gear driven piston machines!!

I’ve previously purchased a wacoco picopresso but its still in “that drawer”

The one David similarly has, labelled coffee bollocks!!

Never got around to using it properly and never managed to purchase the pressure gauge for it as its permanently unavailable.

Hopefully this coffeejack v2 will find its way in to my overnight bag!!

Isn’t the creator notorious for creating kickstarter projects and never delivered on promises? The first version was pretty bad

You might get it, but fair chance is it is not as good as the project pretends it to be.
I stumped upon that project a while back and was somewhat interested, but when I looked at the creator projects my hunch is he (or she, or they) are KS creator that just creates projects for funding and then deliver only a minimal amount of it. They probably find a product from china and with some flashy photos, boom, new kickstart project with huge margin (if they ever deliver). There is nothing passionate nor innovative about it.

To be fair there have been a lot of video updates on kickstartef and on facebook reporting on holdups amd progress.

Looks legit and well engineered from all the available information including the owner, Ashley , visiting the factory in china and showing progress.

Hopefully they turned a corner with this project

Adrianmsmith no i am aware it was backed by a lot of people. I am skeptical of KS in general and this is even more suspicious to me. Not saying it is scam, just doubleful it will be as good as they touted it to be.
Happy to be proven wrong though :)

In the past I’ve been lucky then on kickstarter and ibdiegogo . (That niche thing was a gamble!! 🤪😎)

I’m much more concerned about the state of eBay to be honest. Sellers beware!

I’ve backed this one too. Intrigued to see how it pans out.

I did have to laugh at some of the videos showing the temperature of the coffee produced. They seemed a little “sus” at best.

So many off camera changes going on here, haha. Looks like this wasn’t the video with the off camera temp thing, unless they’ve edited it out after realising how obvious if was

Theres a relief, i thought i was alone.

I’m not expecting to be wanting to sell the evo after it arrives but with the digital gauge and app i hear it should at least rival a decent given a bit of manual effort. (Hopefully Jake isn’t reading this thread 🥰) 🤔🤗🤭☕

@Adrianmsmith have you seen the new emails asking for additional money for shipping???

I deliberately over-ordered on add-ons to get over the £100 threshold for free shipping as well. Now they want another £10 for shipping from me.

Update: Have just paid it. Looks like others are being royally shafted looking in the comments. £9.50 isn’t a bad deal looking at what others seem to be getting hit for.

I’ve paid the same. Didn’t go for the express option!!
If i remember correctly the spend on accessories was to get flat rate postage with no extra for the accessories but it was a long time ago so could be remembering wrongly.

I cant remember if every promise has been honoured, theres been a lot of reading over the months!!

Still hoping it makes a drinkable coffee!!

Didn’t go for the pressure sensor. Just a load of other bits of kit. Most of which I’m fairly sure that I’ll never use haha
