I remember this one when I was on CFUK, I remember I got badmouthed a bit for being sceptical of it back in 2019, I think it was. They raised a hell of a lot of money….the campaign launched October 2019…to be delivered in May 2020.

So far has not been delivered!

Estimate an April 2022 launch of actual product now, that’s some slip! Hence why I’m very cautious about crowdsourcing.

No, I had been sent something pretty much identical a year before their campaign…and it didn’t work well at all., plus a real faff to clean up. I suspect, like the Peak, a lot of people are going to be very disappointed.

I’ve sworn off crowdfunding as just got burned so many times with total non delivery or receiving rubbish, sometimes to the tune of a few hundred in the famous failed small Welsh drone project (want to say Xano but not certain).

It’s a shame as some great products do get thru, the best I received was a coffee item called the American Press, which the divine Hoffman was a bit sniffy about but I thought produced an excellent brew at work and was preferable to me to an Aeropress.

I backed Osma and am delighted with it. Lucky maybe. Also pre ordered Argos which seems to be on track. And the Knob grinder (yes, I know), and the X-Bar which has started shipping. Probably just beginners luck and I may quit while I’m ahead.

Well the Coffee jack appears to still be not delivering. I think the latest estimate is April, but who knows…..

I have big problems when people make claims that are transparently untrue:

“Why choose CoffeeJack? Simple answer: 9-10 bar pressure is required to extract espresso. Unlike other machines, CoffeeJack is able to reach this pressure.”

Maybe “CoffeeJerk” would be more apt.

I had another little check today 2 years 7 months since the campaign ended and over 2 years late delivering…well still not delivered and I don’t believe a date has been given, just the impression that it’s very near (like before). Although I am sure (ish) they will deliver a product, I simply can’t imagine paying money and waiting over 2 years 7 months for something to appear. When it does arrive your just going to look at it and think meh, could have done with that a few years ago.

I do like to keep an eye on these coffee related crowdfunding projects though, which is why I started this area.

It’s been around 3 years since the campaign started/was funded. Delivery was meant to be May 2020. So far deliveries to backers have to started. They recently sent out a prototype review unit to someone I’ve never heard of for some reason. Currently they are sending to backers, surveys, selling additional bits (time limited) and address change info (time limited). This seems to be a mess that will take more time to resolve. No shipping ETA given.

Apparently 100 beta units have been sent out?
