Adrianmsmith how many 21g espresso + milk flat whites can i drink in a day and at what point does it swing from good for you to not so good for you
Can’t answer regarding ‘milk’ because milk can mean anything these days :-)
But, as stated earlier in the thread, regarding caffeine specifically, WHO suggest limiting to 300mg/day, US FDA state 400mg/day.
Best approximation for espresso, neat, from a 21g dose - Assuming only ⅔ of the caffeine is extracted in short ratio espresso (1:2-1:3) and you only drink Arabica (as Robusta can have twice the caffeine), Then 2-3cups, or anything that has a detrimental effect on your sleep (people have different tolerances to caffeine).
Diluted (with water) espresso has everything that espresso has in it, just more water. Water is generally considered beneficial to human health and is unlikely to adversely affect the drink.
