Clodius I guess it all depends how long you have been staring into the abyss! For me, I have 25 years or so. I have had dozens of things. Of course I recoup something when I sell it. I have made lists before and in pure terms of outlay so gross spend rather than net spend I think I could provide enough beds to furnish a 30 room hotel!

I wake up some mornings and hit ‘coffee options paralysis’….it can take me a quarter of an hour to work out which grinder & brewer I am going to use to make the next cup.

When cooking, or preparing food, I have to play a weird ‘draughts-come-Tetris-like’ game, shuffling bits & bobs around the kitchen & balancing ingredients on kettles & brew stands, until the meal is done.

Not sure this qualifies as ‘funny’?

I’m on the right forum, it seems. I do admit that if I take market value of my equipment I may be also eligible for psychiatric help. However, I’ve been savvy with my purchasing equipment that needed a bit of TLC, so my bed is still more expensive.

And I did buy a cheap Helios 44-2 lens. That one may be radioactive

I know my grinder costs more than my new mattress did. It’s the most expensive coffee component I have, and the one that made the most difference in taste.
