Do we have any fans of the British Blues band, The Hoax on here?

I remember them being pretty popular in the 90’s, one of the higher tier UK blues bands, along with acts like the Producers, The Wildcards, Paul Lamb & the Kingsnakes, Otis Grand. Ian Seigal, Big Joe Louis & his Blues Kings.

Don’t think I ever actually saw them though. (was out about 4 nights a week seeing blues bands, locally and travelling for festivals/Warners Blues weekends etc., in the 90’s & 00’s).

MWJB They are new to me and of course your dates are right. I am currently chatting with Jesse Davey who played joint lead guitar. He was associated with another British blues group both playing and producing some of their stuff ( The Black Circles) who I was trying to find some information on.

Luckily there is plenty of their music on Youtube but it is a whole new area to explore!

Gagaryn I have bought a couple of their cd’s and yesterday made up a playlist. I have a speaker for deaf old codgers which slips under my pillow and plays remarkably good music into my side sleeping one ear via bluetooth! I was woken at 2am with a blues version of Stevie Wonders Superstition…it was all a bit surreal!

Did you never listen to Mark Lamarr or Paul Jones’ (more recent) Radio 2 shows?

My experience of live gigs, is that people often don’t immediately recognise blues, frequently asking questions along the lines of ‘what would you call this?’.
