Inadvertently ended up with a bag of coffee on the darker side for my taste. Switch, drip & pour over brews were a little flat & scoring 6 to 7/ 9. So I focused on the moka pot again, as this produces brighter cups.
Last 3 brews have scored 8/ 9, noticeably the best cups from this coffee, compared to my other brews - average parameters:
Guzzini 3 cup pot with Aeropress filter, dose 17.5g
Brew water 132g. (70g bev at 1:4 ratio, 17.5g absorbed, 35g up to basket tube, plus 10g).
Output 70g
Beverage temp 62C
Flow time 1:53 (1:37-2:06).
It’s the chunky pot, so on a very low hob the total brew time is long at 16:00 avg, but as nothing happens for at least 12:00 I can busy myself elsewhere for that time. It does however put me off making more than one cup with this pot per day (I do have other pots I could use, but still tend towards manual brew for a 2nd cup).
