I have an Elizabeth and a DF64. I copied Dave’s settings when I first got the machine and didn’t really change them much since.
dfk41 3 seconds,, then to allow a further 6 seconds to infuse, then at 9 seconds the pump kicked in again
I tested different pre-infusions and just left it on 12 seconds, and I have switched steam pre infusion OFF and always use Bloom. I thought it might not be good for taste since steam is 145C. My pucks always start dripping slightly during pre-infusion. Is this completely wrong?
dfk41 but if you began your count from first meaningful drips it might help and taste better.
I have never thought of it this way, I will try and count it with the first drips. dont know why but I have somehow adopted the idea that if its not dripping a little during pre-infusion then it must be too fine.
I am going to test all the above and report back. Thank you!
