Having spent a bit of time now, trying to master brewed coffee, with help I have come up with a master plan! Despite all the advice that I have been given regarding ratios, i have consigned the whole lot to the bin! I am going to stick with what has worked, which is 230 mls water, 18 gms of coffee and for lighter roasts, 96 degrees. The Ode will be set to 5 which they recommend as a starting point. If the resulting brew is not to my taste I will go one whole number coarser then try again. If it is no better, then one whole number tighter. As far as I can make out, all the other stuff is just twoddle and can only play a small part in the format of the brew.
I have 8 125 gm bags to get through. I doubt any of them will reach the tasting notes. In fact I am just going to open them and not even read the notes meaning a low bar of expectation!
