dfk41 For years we were spoilt by Jens at Torr Tampers but he told me that he had shut down. When I last looked I found a chap on Etsy hand making them but after several conversations he was a pillock! I wonder if anyone knows of anyone worth looking at. I want to buy something for a friend, up to say £100
Inspector i have this one since a while and i am very happy with it. Link doesnt work i think, MHW-3BOMBER 58.35mm Coffee Tamper 2.0 with Sound Feedback 30lb/15lb, Espresso Tamper with 3 Spring Loaded type it on amazon.
Clodius was pretty happy with my original Lelit one. It had the praised Pullman lip to avoid the vacuum effect, but then I decided to go for a level base one. I fancied a wooden handle so got this one https://a.aliexpress.com/_EyWaHYE The best ones, from my research back when I was trying to decide would be The Force Tamper and Pullman Big Step
Adrianmsmith dutchy101 Pillock is such an amazing insult. Vastly underused Could easily be used in comments to many YouTube influencer videos but I’m undecided, aimed at the creator or the people who respond: “pillock you are so amazing, this totally unnecessary gadget will make my bank account so much more empty . Thanks for creating a use for this to help them market it”…. He says having posted 2 such pictures directly above😎
dfk41 Adrianmsmith Pillock is a much underused word! For me, it sums up someone who is so stupid that they fail to identify an opportunity, thus many lose out!
JonWoo187 Personally don’t bother with a typical tamper these days since I started using the LevelTamp by JoeFrex. Set the depth for expected headspace and it pretty much does the rest. Only thing I change to accommodate it is dose weight depending on bean density/grind fineness, keeps the puck depth the same every single time. Weighing in around 2.5 lbs I sit it on the grounds mound, lightly spin to level, then press lightly to bottom out against basket rim and done.
