Appreciate that. But if you want a machine which heats up fast - then there are alternative ways of heating up the PF if you want the convenience of a fast warm up. For example - for those using a bottomless PF - there’s absolutely no value for the PF to be as the same temperature of the group as no coffee touches the PF - only the rim of the basket, which has an insignificant thermal mass in comparison. I myself just leave the bottomless PF on top of the machine these days.
But since you use the spouted PF - then it has to be hot. All I am saying here is there are other ways of warming it up if you want to benefit from the machine’s fast warm up time. Another way is to purge some water from the machine itself through it.
Take the Decent for example. I think it’s ready in no time. I doubt the group heats up (I don’t know, I never seen one or used one), as the machine has no boilers. But then again - the machine comes with a bottomless PF which doesn’t need to be warmed up.
I honestly do not know why the DB doesn’t allow one to turn that functionality off - whereas the Elizabeth a machine that is very much comparable to the DB, made by the same company in the grand scheme of things - does allow.
