Hot Humid Weather And Bean Deterioration

Anyone else noticed their coffee is ageing far quicker than usual?
Two bean that I thought were really good seem to have nosedived and a decaf that was just about okay is now much poorer and I can’t wait to see the back of it.
This is all within a week from opening , with good roast dates and kept in an airscape tin in a fairly cool place, well as cool as it’s going to get anyway! 🥵

I’m certain it does. I’m currently reaching the end of my summer holidays in Greece in a part of the country which is hot and humid. I’m currently enjoying a Zennor Geisha from Peru brewed using my Orea O1 brewer with flat filters and my ZP6 grinder. The taste is super sweet and the first few days there was interesting florality in the aftertaste. Now which is day 4 since opening the bag it’s become a bit empty of this. The sweetness still stands though but the flavour is more undefined and I’m noticing faster drawdowns.

Platypus Yes I have had the same problem, also the need to grind much finer.

I also cancelled my subscription, the roaster did E/M me to say many people were finding the same.

Not really surprising when you consider how finnecy / temperamental beans are regarding storage.
