@"RobertRo101"#p9667 I've been using the V3 for almost a year now…low flow works well. Especially good if you don't want to move the paddle..It was one of my favourite new things on Bianca. For the upgrade you would need a new LCC, some wiring and the additional solenoid with a slight plumbing change.

The Bianca Review is a version 1, so quite old now. I may well update it…essentially the machine is unchanged except for the addition of the new features. I may have a few extra features the production version doesn't have, and my solenoid is slightly different (they are sending me a replacement, if I get any problems with mine)… I was originally sent it to try it and see if there were any problems…which there were not…it wall worked very well. I don't think I have a manual, but I will download the production manual as my version a year ago has something else I won't mention, until I find out if it was in the production version. I suspect my software might not be exactly the same version, but again until you guys by one and if the software version is on the back of the LCC I won't know…plus mine could still have been a reflashed LCC. I have to be very careful when commenting on pre production stuff so early in the chain. Really like the version 3 though, as compared to the version 1, lots of features were new….and I do need to update my version 1 to a version 2.

This is why, despite my recent challenges, I really love the Bianca (and Lelit). I have been toying with updating to LCC 2. I may hang fire and update to LCC v3 though, with my new found boldness for tinkering with the machine 😉

The Low flow used in conjunction with PI seems to be a good combination. Dave, have you been using just the low flow or do you always use the PI with it ?

Really great feature. It basically mirrors the profile I use 99% of the time so it’s handy to be able to automate it. It’s also really awesome to see Lelit iterating on what is already a fantastic machine. It’s impressive how quickly the group head pressure changes when the low flow kicks in.

Its a good option, not sure id rip my machine apart for it, but its a good out the box incentive to buy the v3 over a competitor

there will hopefully be some other upgrades that the new LCC bring that are worthwhile.

Solution to this was rather simple. The machine (or my countertop) must be slightly uneven. Adding a couple of felt pads to the rear of the machine (approx 1deg tilt) means the drop falls into the drip tray instead of tracking down the case.

james65477564 - Good reminder of this. My Pro-700 back in the day would always drip on the grate of the drip tray, causing a splash and steaming up during heat up. Minor detail… But I did have a fix. I’ll share the image here when I get to it.

Low Flow Observation/Question:

Does anybody know what low flow is doing? I initially thought it was reducing flow but it looks like it also manipulates pressure?

I measure a water debit of approx 4ml/s in low flow mode but when pulling shots or using the blank pressure is never >4 bar. It therefore looks like it is doing both?

Long awaited review Lelit Bianca V3 espresso test (kaffeemacher.ch). what I like about these guys is they publish test data.

Google translate does not help much but it seems Bianca v3 (or maybe just Bianca in general) has outstanding temp stability

Now I think I understand the test. you might have figured it out before me, but just in case - this is the temp with 25 seconds brew, targeting 93C. they test with different idle time, from 10 minutes to 10 second. this is same test on synchronika (but targeting 92*C)

wow. bianca was able to maintain performance quite significantly more consistent. just wow…

MediumRoastSteam now I think I understand it as well. the line is basically what Scace measured. They left the scace in the group head without pulling a shot, so it is warmed up but way below brew temp. once they start pulling a shot, temp spiked as we can see.

so they probably did a few tries and 17m is the threshold when it passed the test. I think their “standard” is waiting for 25m. they probably saw the LCC stabilized and tried sooner

delta76 - so I read the Pro-300, the Synchronika and the Elizabeth. I understand it now.

Basically that graph shows that, after a set amount of elapsed time the machine is warming up from cold, they pull 5 shots, 1 minute apart (those are the plummeting and recovering lines). If there are 5 shots within the target temp, say, 93C, then it passes the test.

So 17 minutes for the Bianca 230V machine (EU). Impressive. The Synchronika wasn’t so successful, taking 35 minutes!

MediumRoastSteam interesting indeed. I recall they said in their Synchronika test that it is a good (or very good) machine but also boring at the same time as there is very little innovation you get from it. Now with their test for Bianca v3 it pretty much seals the deal for me.

MediumRoastSteam go for it. we can be Bianca buddy. I bought my LE mostly from the v3 thread on coffeeforums uk (which you and @DavecUK were very active and helpful).

it is really eye opener though, when you have data to actually compare. people keep saying how good espresso Synchronika (and its sibling Pro 700) can make. that is likely true, however, but there are a lot of room to improve. Except for build quality, we can objectively say Bianca is a superior performer.

I need to re-read the article, but I don’t think they talk about which PID settings they are using, whether it’s the one suggested by Dave, factory or something else.

MediumRoastSteam they did use Dave’s settings in their LE test. So they definitely know and respect Dave as an expert. The blog is still a work in progress if I understand correctly. they do have the long video review which probably mentions the settings but I don’t have time or patience to watch it in German for 1 hour 🤣.

Would be very interesting if Lelit somehow tweaked the machine and v3 is indeed a better performer than v1, i.e. not just new features. Pretty unlikely, but who knows. If that is the case then hat off to Lelit. They keep pulling rabbits from their hat!
