As a Comandante user who has been grinding almost exclusively for espresso the last few weeks/ months, I agree with the comments above that it’s a breeze for pour over but does require some effort for espresso. I’ve got some very dark roast/ quite oily beans at the moment and they are significantly easier than medium roast I’ve had in the past. I only brew for myself most of the time so I do understand that grinding for 3 or 4 would be a very different experience.
For me, I enjoy the whole process of making coffee and part of that is the manual element of grinding your own beans.
I must admit that I do also find it slightly amusing that for a species that used to have to hunt for our food and dig in the ground for our energy, the thought of a bit of manual effort to grind coffee beans is somehow a step too far!
Having said all that, I’m likely to be purchasing a Niche soon but that’s nothing to do with not liking hand grinding, just another strain of the upgrade-itis virus!
