I normally, keep this place clean. I have never seen water under the unit. It was all good for a day - after changing the filter. An hour ago, the zero went crazy. It was emitting a continuous or a repetitive beep. I was in a meeting. When I went and checked after the meeting, as my wife called out, the water was dispersing auto from the unit’s tap with a beep sound; it flooded the kitchen floor by about 3 L. The pitcher was full before and I have disconnected with 2L left in the pitcher. Please advise. Thx

@"DavecUK"#p11822 Indeed. Two things surprised me 1: pool of water under the unit - yesterday before changing filter and tonight 2: I saw the unit auto discharging water with a beep sound. The floor was full of water. I had changed the pitcher in the night and went to a meeting. My wife was watching TV and went to kitchen to draw some water en-route to bed. She called me out. It was like watching a freaky movie, where things work auto — as if spirit is operating it. 😂 I have powered off the unit to avoid any unexpected issues. I will check tomorrow but will have to speak to Osmio. I checked the new filters. They are all mounted ok.

@"LMSC"#p11819 This sounds like a pcb issue and you would need to contact Osmio support on. Info@osmiowater.co.uk. Make sure you aren't using an extension and have it plugged straight into the wall. Strange electrical behaviour has previously been associated with this issue.

@"OsmioWater"#p11844 Just spoke with Mark @"OsmioWater"#43. He said you guys will get back to me via email. The unit is connected to the wall on its own. No extensions. @"OsmioWater"#p11844 have asked me to return unit to their workshop. I reckon they will replace the PCB and any parts, which require a replacement. It looks like no espressos until we get the Osmio back in shape. We will be dusting off the Indian filter for milk-based drinks! Thanks Mark and Osmio team for a quick response.

@"LMSC"#p11852 If you have a Brita jug, you could use a Birta filter in it….or even go bareback on the water for a week…if it's not too hard. Bottled is also an option. This is because pure RO from the Osmio for a few weeks (2-4) will gradually remove any Limescale that forms. *P.S. Although if you're anything like me, putting ordinary water in a machine feels a bit unnatural and I'm not sure I could do it.*

@"DavecUK"#p11858 Yeah! Difficult to put anything once we are used to something like Osmio, is it not? I thought of zero water jug, which costs £25 at least or grab Volvic only for machine. Not sure, I want to spend £25. Pure RO is good as it will wash off any limescale traces. Perhaps, Zero will do the job without Bicarb. Since seeing small traces of lime scale on the service boiler, when I installed the valve at the bottom of the boiler, I am feeding just the remineralised RO. I have stopped adding bicarb. It’s been 4-6 weeks since then. Edit: Not keen to use bottled - even Volvic.

My Osmio has been out of service since July. It was constantly leaking but I didn’t have the electrical issues. I need to send it back to Osmio but it’s in France with me and posting anything back and forth is now a real headache and expensive so it’s sitting here waiting until I can drive back with it. I really miss not having it.

The Bicarb won't cause limescale - it's composition is NaHCo3, there's no calcium in it - If you see traces of limescale, and you only ever used the Osmio, that's got to be the Osmio remineralisation, or whatever other water you used prior to the Osmio.

@"MediumRoastSteam"#p11862. Thanks. Yes, indeed. I am dropping off one at a time. Never used anything other than Osmio from day 1. The traces were very small. It can’t be anything other than the remineralisation catridge. I have always been testing the water drawn from the service using the drop kit. The hardness, given the alkalinity, are well within the safe level at 130C. Of course, Rob may say static testing won’t show when it started to scale. But, we are talking about tiny traces here. The remineralised water test is fine, tbh. See an example of the last test on Osmio Zero on her first anniversary date in Feb : GH = 8.95 mg/l, KH 17.9 mg/l, TDS 31, Temp 19. We swapped for the new filter after the alert last week. Once she comes back from the workshop, I plan to remove the remineralisation catridge and use the plain RO for a few weeks. Only thing, is we drink a lot of water from Osmio. Not sure, we will like the taste without the catridge. 😊 The main thing is getting the Osmio zero back once the fix is done. Until then, we will have to drink the tap water. Can’t wait to drink the tap water! 😉

Had to pull out our kettle, which was gathering dust in the garage for a little more than a year. Drinking tap water, although softened, is harder than I had imagined.

We have gone back to our Indian filter for milk-based coffee. As usual, using ever-reliable Clever and V60 for pour overs.

OMG, how spoiled and blessed we all are, considering people elsewhere don’t even get water to drink, let alone something to eat! I do feel guilty from time to time, while never forgetting to thank our Almighty for what ever we have.

Thanks to the lovely Osmio team, I got the unit this afternoon.

They said they didn’t find anything. Considering the way the unit auto-discharged a few litres continuously, they swapped the PCB board to avoid intermittent issues.

Flushed a few litres of water as the filter was changed early March. She is up and running and it was great to drink a lovely cup of water.

We haven’t had an espresso in two weeks as the OZ wasn’t with us. Will be pulling a couple of decafe this evening.
