Traditionally, we have had a pressure cooker for a long time. We have however started a using multi cooker, which can pressure cook, steam, slow cook, etc.

We have had 4 in as many years.

Two of them are Tefal, where one failed under warranty and the other shortly after.

We then replaced it with an Insta Pot Duo 7 in 1. This is good. However, one failed in less than a year, which was promptly replaced by Amazon customer support. The other insta pot is still working ok after 8-9 months of replacement, but it rusted around the edges of the base unit and also around the inner side of the cooker lid - between the gasket and the lid edges. We care by minimising the moisture and keep as dry as possible. Amazon as usual is very helpful and asked me to return for a refund. This is going back.

We plan to get another insta pot, which we do not think will be free of rust. What do you guys use? Is there a good alternative? We don’t want to spend more than £100. The insta pots were a bargain at £60 at Amazon.

i use an insta pot and have had no issues at all… my mate has a ninja and loves it

If they’re not lasting very long then is there a more premium alternative that will? Sounds like a bit of a false economy with the number of issues you’ve had.

    Dusk Thank you!

Have been thinking if it’s worth paying more. Because, we don’t need most of the functions except pressure cook, slow cook and steam.

We won’t buy Tefal for sure!

Instapot is good except the rust issue. The inner pot is stainless steel, which I think isn’t the case with Ninja.

We have this since 18 months and use it regularly. Very happy with it. Highly recommended.

Dont know why link does not show up. Its the instant pot duo evo plus 10 in 1 model

Inspector Thanks mate! It doesn’t rust, does it ? Have been thinking should we pay more.

We liked the insta pot except the rust problem around the areas where the top of the cooker and the lid meets. Blimey, the entire inside of the lid and the edges of the cooler also discoloured - rusting. They won’t go.

thats the same one ive got.

no rust! used regularly enough to have got rust if it was going to rust by now.

We dont put it through the dishwasher and dry it after use. Perhaps that helps?

dfk41 this is why i got an insta pot and will be getting a kamado bbq, they are multipurpose items which to me is very important and practical

        LMSC

No, not at all, sometimes i put whole lid in the dishwasher after cooking a lamb stew or something, as lid and silicone gasket tends to hold onto smell of what you cook. Handles also help a lot in this model as you can grab the pot and put it somewhere else when hot or use it as stainless pot on hob. I highly recommend this model.

Thanks every one. Ordered the Insta Pot Evo Plus. Paid £106+,
which is a bit more than I would have liked. The older Insta Pot will go back today for a full refund. Thank you Inspector
