Hello lovely people

I am hopefully moving house in a few weeks, this will be the first time since its arrival that I will be moving my Lelit Bianca. What are peoples reccomendations for best practise to do this?

I still have the original packaging which I intend to use but what is best to do with regard to the boilers full of water, can i completely drain them, is this a good idea etc…

mrjames Empty the plastic tank and drip tray. Leave the boilers full, don’t worry about them…it will be fine. Original packaging is great to protect the machine during the move. Mark this way up/fragile/heavy, for the removals people

i did this last week, i emptied the plastic tank, and drip tray put it back in its original packaging and whacked it in the moving van.

it arrived perfect, no damage, plugged in, added water, made a brew

Think I’d be transporting the machine personally i.e. in the boot of my own car if I was moving to be honest.

thats fair, except my car isnt big enough with my family in it to also get a coffee machine in it. i also trusted the removal men with substantially more expensive and more fragile items. so why wouldnt i trust them with a coffee machine that got delivered to my house by a delivery service?

A proper removals company is insured and are better at transporting items that you and I.

Only if they care! Those who have received their machines from Italy will tell you a different story barring the last few in recent weeks!

The same big international courier delivers computers and hardware for a major IT company, I work for. A delivery to my address never took place on Monday. The courier claimed and showed me a proof. The person who signed for is unknown to us. Interestingly, the photo they showed as a proof had dozens of unopened packet delivered by the same company. A few enquiries later, the packet was delivered yesterday. Imagine an expensive item is broken, badly damaged or goes missing. Ours was a low risks new hardware. What if the missing delivery contains customer sensitive information?

In a nutshell, we have to rely on these guys to move items of smaller or a larger scale. Mostly it is ok; the local companies are good; they mean business; and, am not confident about the big boys. 😊

Thankyou for all the help. Seems a little simpler than I feared.

I was intending to put it in my car rather than let the removal guys loose with it, being honest its one of the most expensive and most used bits of kit in the house. Also i think if it arrived with bit of damage id rather it was me that caused it than somebody else…
