Smart radiator valves

I have a Hive thermostat, which works well for me and I like. I have been considering SMR’s and was drawn to Hive, but, there seems to be plenty of criticism online as to the quality of the software. This has put me off Hive so I wondered if any members used makes other than Hive and how good or bad their experience has beem.

I’m using a Tado system - I think it’s brilliant. I can control every radiator in the house independently - set the time they come on, go off and the temperature they need to get the room to before they switch off. The system detects if there’s a window open in a room and sends a message to my phone asking if I want to turn that room off. If I leave the house I get a notification asking if I want to turn the heating off too. You can boost all rooms at once and each thermostat also gives humidity readings for each room. It also can give you reports on usage compared to the previous period etc.

I am using Hive radiator valves and not 100% happy at the moment. When set on a schedule some will switch on straight away and other will take 15 minutes to come on.

boost tends to have issues occasionally as lowers temperature for some reason and some radiators won’t switch on.

I use zwave ones that I then control as part of a smart home system. Very powerful but a lot more complicated to set up. Control of room radiators rather than single thermostat is the future is just frustrating how poor some of the retail offerings are.
