SouthMark45 Has anyone seen these hand grinders up close or even better tried one? I’m in the market for a Hand Grinder for AeroPress and French Press and like the look of this grinder
Sham Looks very sexy, the price follows suit too. I haven’t heard of this talked about much, is it new?
DavecUK I am a great fan of Mazzer Burrs and this grinder looks very well made. It is pricey, which is a shame, because it’s not as accessible as it could be for many people. I imagine it’s going to be a great little hand grinder.
SouthMark45 Cuprajake thanks yeah I did see this Podcast but I want to see a full review before spending that sort of cash
SouthMark45 It certainly looks well made and what I like best is the top adjustment which lets you know what setting your on, they also state it doesn’t need to be recalibrated after taking it apart and cleaning. I don’t think it’s really anymore expensive than a Comandante C40 or a top of the line 1zpresso but agree it is expensive. I just wish there was some YouTube videos on how it performs to help with making a proper informed decision…. I may wait and see
SouthMark45 Yep may look into the Kinu as that along with the Comandante C40 is on my list of others Thanks
SouthMark45 Went with the Comandante in the end as the pice for the Mazzer including shipping and taxes would have been really expensive
Mark-drinks-coffee SouthMark45 Good choice, love my Comandante! Although I have recently placed an order for a Niche but the plan is to use the c40 for pour over and holidays.
Mark-drinks-coffee SouthMark45 SouthMark45 Mark-drinks-coffee do you use it for AeroPress if so how many clicks do you use? Thanks I don’t make AeroPress very often and it will depend on your recipe obviously. I like a 2min steep inverted so I grind similar to my pour over setting - probably somewhere around 20-24 clicks? Enjoy!
SouthMark45 Mark-drinks-coffee I have found the sweet spot so far for me 14 clicks….. really juicy and fruity…. Especially Rocko mountain
Mark-drinks-coffee SouthMark45 nice! Will need to dig out the old Aeropress and give it a try! What’s your recipe?
