Cuprajake - it’s good for what it is. As long as you don’t expect miracles, it will do a great job.
It’s built like a tank, it’s strong, it’s simple, it’s easy to clean, it will last you a lifetime if you look after it properly. I have one that’s 16 years old and the only think i recently replaced was the circuit board, because the relay failed. I could’ve replaced the relay for a couple of quid, but my soldering skills leave a lot to be desired! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I also have the Behmor, which is a lot more faff than the Gene. Saying that, for the life of me I can’t hear first crack with the Gene (maybe a few times depending on the bean) whereas with the Behmor it’s light night and day. You can’t miss it.
Both roasters do a reasonable job. But don’t expect to be able to profile your roast or repeatability to the same degree all the time.
