Most of what I might ask/look for has already been mentioned but one point I’d stress is …. VERY early on, I want to know the price point. Not an exact price, but ball park.
Why?
I might read/watch a review for one of two reasons - either I’m looking to buy, or sheer curiosity. And especially if I’m reading/watching reviews with a view to buying, I don’t bother reading anythiing not more or less on-target. By that, I mean (for example) if I’m thinking about a £500 grinder, then a £100 grinder is extremely unlikely to be of interest, and esoterica at £3k+ certainly isn’t.
Conversely, if I’m reading out of simple curiosity not to potentially buy then price doesn’t directly matter BUT it helps me, a lot, to put what I read in context.
This logic, for me, isn’t about just grinder reviews but reviews, period. It matters not whether it’s a camera or car, whether it’s £20 or £20k, I like to read a review not wondering, the whole damn way through …“Yeah, great. But… HOW MUCH is it?”
So please, a few bullet points up front, one of which is price point. It tells me, depending on why I’m reading, whether it’s worth my time or not. I’m not saying to give away the whole review in bullet points, though. A better bet is, well …. maybe ‘teasers’ is the right term. Any well-written review, like a good book, needs to grab the reader up-front because, in this information-rich world (but also drivel-rich) you don’t have long to get the reader/watcher’s attention, before they move on, bored. There’s an art to balancing that. All good reviews have that, though the mothod varies.
