Estimate an April 2022 launch of actual product now, that’s some slip! Hence why I’m very cautious about crowdsourcing.
Got a Hario v60 filter holder and a Hario bean storage canister today.
Will be getting mine in a couple of months I think, still very torn between the black or the white. Think the white looks slightly nicer but the black would match more of my kitchen appliances.
dndrich welcome to the forums! This is pretty much my goal set up, not 100% set on which espresso machine I want to get yet but I know I want to acquire the niche at some point this year.
Watching season 6 of Ray Donovan currently. Only recently started watching it but am quite liking it up to this point.
How was your time with the Barista Express? Becoming increasingly interested in getting into espresso and was looking into this, seems to be some good deals online second hand. How’s the experience overall?
CafeNoir and really, tea doesn’t count does it?
No I wouldn’t count tea, I drink a lot of that on top of my 2-3 coffees a day though.

I haven’t entered the world of espresso drinks just yet. Was put off by the learning curve but I’m becoming increasingly tempted.
I have a Hario v60 which I use most days and really like it. Find it simple to use, good for single cups of coffee and think it makes a really good cup with the right grind setting & method.
As for method I use this: James Hoffmann ultimate v60 technique
DavecUK did ask specifically as the contract mentioned the need to request pets, the rights of which wouldn’t be reasonably withheld. My grandma had an older cat that needed rehoming when she moved into a home but we were told no unfortunately.
DavecUK they reckon the place is too small. We have a small one bed mews house so I can somewhat understand it but neighbours also have pets and think it’s big enough for one cat, they don’t need much space.
Should be able to text a number and get a PAC code to move over. I did this recently leaving virgin mobile too. Was paying a fair amount for “5g” and never once got it even in the city centre with good coverage. I moved across to Voxi for the endless social media and video as I use it quite a lot whilst travelling on the train. Get 5g service quite a lot now and very happy with my change.
Another one of my passions cropping up haha. I have a fair amount of fragrances which I like to collect. Coffee is actually a fairly common note within the fragrance community. For example, Black Opium lists coffee as a note.
Tea and water are my other most commonly drank drinks. I don’t like beer too much but I drink it when out with friends at the weekend in the pubs or out for a meal.

Baldrick had a coffee pod subscription from these guys in the short time I had a Nespresso machine. Ordered 60 speciality coffees and 2 of the 4 boxes were past the best before date. Know it shouldn’t make a big difference to the taste of the coffee because of the sealed atmosphere but left a bad taste in my mouth (pun not intended) that they sent out something past best before without any warning that they would.
Granted they did replace but I didn’t renew my subscription.
MWJB will check this out, didn’t know it was something I could get information on. Know my Sage does have a filter for this purpose and it should tell me when it needs to be replaced or when I need to descale my machine as far as I can tell - never been told I needed to so would assume I’m okay.
Do you use filtered water of any kind, or add anything into the tap water to make it more balanced? It’s not something I’ve got into but hear it can make for a better brew. The Sage Precision I use comes with a descaler insert but I haven’t replaced it since having it (something I should probably do quite soon).
- In Glass cups
Mentioned in another thread I’ve had a recent burn to purchase some glass cups for my coffee (usually just filter). Any recommendations anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated!
Yeah mine is around the 2-3 mark. V60 in the morning before I head to work and then one or two filters from work throughout the day. Can be upwards of 4 if the day is particularly dragging.
dutchy101 yeah also interested to know the reasoning behind this. Seems a little bit excessive.
