Yeah good roast again from North star, they have been my most consistent roaster for a while now.

These are only a few days off roast, not too bright, not getting much from it yet, Hopefully that will change as I get dialed in. My try a lower temp with them.

Does anyone know what’s the deal with 1 group Vostok ACS is showing? Is it basically going to be a plumbed only and pumpless version of the EVO?

gus6464 Not sure….Paolo is doing something with it, as the problem was always fitting in a tank and pump internally….because of the shape. I’ll ask.

So I bought a cheap thermocouple thermometer from Amazon, now this is by no means a scace device. I just wanted to play, see stability really

So I pushed a probe up the pf spout, then poked a bit of tissue in the hole to hold the wire. It’s was touching the bottom of the basket,

Prepared a shot and pulled it.

This is the extraction. I’m not to fussed on the numbers, but more the stability.

It’s good enough to satisfy my curiosity anyway,

I did a second try, but with the probe ontop of the puck, sort of floating in the group, while stable it gave a read of 80 so not sure what happened but it was stable

Cuprajake With 90 the group, you are spot on! Just a 0.5C difference, ignoring the top of the puck test.

I was thinking temperature reading using the TC with the puck will be influenced by the puck. It’s probably not the actual water temperature. It is likely vary depending on where it’s placed - bottom, too, middle.

Another alternative to get an accurate reading of the water entering the group/basket is using a single blank basket. This is dangerous as it’s a lever machine. I am thinking if the lever can be manipulated to quickly relieve the pressure after the test is over. Dave would know.

It’s hard because it’s all under pressure. I did some reading and app the puck can hold heat, this skews stuff.

Had a look this morning, the probe that did the 80 reading I broke, crushed the wires locking into the group.
