IMO, I don’t really think you require this on Evo as you get 10.5 bar pressure extraction. I have experienced this pushing the extraction to the extreme. Medium Dark and Dark, it makes the taste too intense unless you dilute it as a long black / Americano or cut with milk. Generally, it is not advised to use the puck screen on these roasts.
On the lighter side of the roast, it consistently makes the shot too acidic / sour to drink. This is what happened in my case, although some think the light roast will benefit from puck screen.
If you are after a very nice looking flat puck and can’t be bothered to clean the shower screen EoD or once on 2 days, please go ahead. It’s a pain to clean the puck screen, while the shower screen takes a couple of seconds to remove, a few to give a quick clean and put it back.
