while tightening the other and avoiding damage to the chrome steam arm!

Hand tightened - not straight

A locking nut - one on the outside and the other inside (smaller size and can’t measure the thread size)

You definitely need a spanner to hold the outside ove the valve body, or an adjustable with jaw protectors.

DavecUK Yeah! Let me see what I have. Don’t have one with Jaw protectors. I will have some time tomorrow to move her to a spacious worktop, take a look, post a better picture of the inside and will go from there. Thx!

DavecUK I managed to get a good look. I fired up the service boiler. After reaching full temperature, a couple of drops appeared at the valve (actually between the valve and the edge of the pipe fitting). It seems to stop after that.

I steamed some milk, no noticeable loss of pressure and did not see any visible signs of steam escaping from that valve to my naked eye. One might have to hold a tiny mirror there to see if the steam is escaping (it may).

It is a very difficult to reach that area - bottom, right side or the rear. I am planning to drop a note to ACS to advise the leak. They may advise the best way of fixing the issue.

Hello! I am excited to announce that I have joined the Evo Leva family. Thank you to everyone in this thread for information, feedback and photos; it helped me decided on this specific lever machine. Also big thanks to Maria from ACS, she was patient and helped answer all of my questions.

As of right now I am keeping the pre infusion, temp settings, and pid settings as default. Using Dr. Palvis water recipe. Dialing in dark roast beans; 20g dose, 40g yield (18/20g basket) in about 30 seconds. Things are tasting great so far. Any off the top of your head tips for a newbie?

My machine customizations: Walnut handles, dual vostok wands, 3 naked portafilters.

I made the legs using ⅜″ thick rectangle tubing. The legs are attached to a ⅜″ × 4″ steel sheet. There are 4 bolts per leg (except the leg in the pic that is missing 1) that go into threaded inserts. Pics

The only thing I’d say is just check the pid settings are up to date, other than that enjoy the new machine 😁🥰

Hey folks, I tried a bit of a search with thousands of results.
Is any one using a ‘The Force’ tamper with their EVO?
I am presuming that the EVO and Vostok PFs and baskets will be the same.
I currently have a force tamper for my Bianca and like it so I am after a bit of advice.

I have no advice on The Force tamper, but I am I experimenting with the Normcore 53.3mm tamper right now. I purchased it from Amazon and have till January 31st 2023 to return. It slightly smaller than the tamper that ships with the machine (see pic). I wish it was a bit larger, but I think it is fine for the price. If you want I can get a picture of the bed after tamp.

nope dont fit the baskets, they sell a 54mm base but the top hat doesnt sit on the basket lip

Can you put a set of verniers across it and see how much “meat” is on the raised lip in the top plate.
Could the lip be machined down so that it fits in the basket?
I looks like it doesn’t miss by much and the lip on my 58mm Force is about 1.5mm thick.
I reckon one could taper that lip on a lathe to make it fit.

I use a Bravo tamper. A 54.7mm base is available which fits the baskets.

Looks like the temp probe on my brew boiler has died. I already sent an email to Paolo and ACS but does anyone know the part number to see if I can find the part locally in the USA to try to get up and running quicker while ACS ships me one?

The pids sensore are universal, really?

gus6464 pretty much any standard espresso machine temp sensor with the right thread should work.

Just make sure it looks the same and has same connector.
