Not that I know of. There are exploded diagrams of the (unmodified/uncustomised) TOF LSM-type group, but they aren’t very useful, because

a) The Evo’s group is different in quite a few critical parts

b) There are no technical specs of the parts (e.g. o-ring dimensions), even when those parts are ‘common’

So I’ve been messing with a bean, cleaned the niche out, calibrated it, it was bang on.

Dosed 22g and ground it at 3 on the niche

Cuprajake How was it? It was quite a long shot. I thought it would benefit from loosening the grind a bit. Rather than loosening the grind, I would tamp lightly, as loosening the grind could result in faster pour in the latter half.

It also sprayed a bit around. I assume your puck prep routine remained the same.

Ive been playing with dose/baskets of recent as I’ve had a very light bean on the go, tried the puck screen a few times. It’s one I had custom made for the ims baskets I’ve noticed that the pour is actually faster with the screen

I wonder if you didn’t lock the portafilter fully as we see steady drips of water once the shot gets going (after 14s). Please check.

Edit : how does it compare without the puck screen (shot time and taste)? I’m not a fan of puck screens. Go for it if you like the taste. 😊

oh, thats water from a wet portafilter, from being washed out,

i dont care for the screen its a faff ive just been messing with it of late in that bigger basket, saw it on the side and thought what the hell

With the Evo as that’s what we have, I am afraid. I think the basket and 10.5-11 bars pressure make a difference. It shouldn’t prevent you from experimenting on your machine, though! Try and see what works for you. 😊

Thanks to Evo’s temp options plus the higher bar pressure, you get the sweet shot in the 25 sec window. Evo will tame the most acidic beans, e.g. Kenyan and not produce mouth puckering espresso.

This is very true! I am really enjoying Crown and Canvas’s Washed Kenyan Mwiria AA. Sweet and gentle acidity as in Nectarine and Plums! I do pull the shot at 92/98 though.

i tend to stay at 92/98 for most of my stuff, the med/dark i drop to 90/96

Anything above 92/98, I find the cup a little unpleasant, unless it is really light.

Are you grinding on MM for the light and medium light?
