Group temp stability - I am still fighting this. Opening the water tank side and checking for loose contact helped address the sticky group temp issue.
Unlike the past, for the same PID settings, the group temp never gets stuck 0.5-1.0 C below the set point. It does swing 1C lower (say 91 SP to 90C) before quickly reaching just past the SP by 0.5C. This swing (90-91.5C) is a normal behaviour.
If I am pulling a shot at 91C/97C, I typically wait and pull at or a little above the SP. It stabilises around 90.8C/91.2C during the first half of the shot. However, the issue is the second half, where the temp would steadily drop towards the lower end at 90.0/90.1C.
Is it normal for the temp to lose a degree as the shot draws to a close? I think 0.5C is fine.
I tried putting up the temp difference to 7C. I don’t like the taste.
Group 3, 0.02,3, 20
Brew 1, 0, 20, 120
Steam 20, 0,5,1
I did modify the default setting, which doesn’t seem to help in my case.
Thx
