Cuprajake Imo the machine is set up perfectly, over the last year I’ve tweaked the pid setting for the boilers and group so it reacts perfect. Only thing you need to decide now is the temps you want but I usually stuck to 92/98 for light and 90/96 for med
dfk41 Cuprajake Amazing how folks taste things differently! On medium/plus beans I found for my taste, 93 for the group and 98 for the brew boiler. I presumed that lighter roasts would need higher than that, but the good thing is if you disagree with either of us, you can use your own tastebuds and set them to whatever you want. Can you imagine being stuck with a machine that did not offer you such flexibility….LOL
Eiffel @“Grahamsphillips” If you haven’t already done so, you may also look at the unofficial EVO FAQ in my signature… It’s a somewhat dated, but contains quite a bit of information and ideas (not everyone agrees on the right settings 🤣), which you might find relevant.
LMSC dfk41 Agree. Every one is different. For me: 90/96 >= medium dark 91/97 = medium 92/98 <= medium light
Camby Evening. A few weeks ago the safety limit switch on the steam boiler needed to be reset after a lack of heating. This worked for a couple of weeks. Well alas now it seems to have failed as resetting by pushing the central plastic pin no longer helps. ACS have sent a replacement. I’d don’t remember reading about anyone changing this switch but if there is any experience please share, especially if anything special is required to obtain a seal after fitting. I’d consider myself reasonably competent in such matters but still would be interested in any guidance.
pinky-and-me Camby if you are talking about the temperature breaker, then those don’t usually require a seal since they don’t go inside the boiler. They are just mounted on the surface.
DavecUK Camby Unusual for them to fail, but super easy to replace? After replacement, keep a close eye on the steam boiler temperature.
Camby Thanks to you both. I hadn’t realised they were surface mount. Once the part arrives and is fitted I will report back.
dfk41 The Osmio pretty much looks after itself, making it simple to use. Some folks like to add minerals back in but for my simple taste buds I like it just the way it is!
DavecUK Grahamsphillips Now to find a deal on an OSMIO! Good luck, but I think you may have to pay RRP unless you ask if they have any graded units!
